FBALL X Rules and Regulations
1. WEATHER: The decision to fish is solely the captain’s choice. All anglers fish at their own discretion and risk. If the Fisherman’s Ball tournament rules committee determines it is unsafe to fish, all cash awards will still be presented by randomly selecting boat names at the awards party (must be present to win). No entry refunds.
2. Tournament hours of fishing are from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. Gentleman’s start from the location of your choice and your boat hull MUST TOUCH THE SANDBAR SAND BY 3:00 PM. Channel 69 is the designated tournament channel.
3. All fish must be caught on rod and reel (no electric reels). Kites, downriggers, planers, and wire lines are permitted. No line test restrictions. Live, dead and artificial baits are permitted. No limits to the number of lines and/or anglers each boat can fish. Extra points for if you are fishing with Snoopy rods.
4. Mustaches are encouraged, but not required.
5. Tournament weigh-in will be held on the on the PONTIKI pontoon boat on the Peanut Island Sandbar across from Sailfish Marina. Find the PONTIKI...and you will find the end of the rainbow. Awards will be given on the sandbar after all weights have been taken.
6. All entered fish must be able to pass mano a mano, honest to the grave, lie detector and mutilation investigation test. In the event of a tie (identical weights), an arm wrestle will decide who the winner is; and if all else fails, Tournament Committee will have the final say in everything.
7. Only one (1) fish per boat, with heaviest weight, may win tournament categories: (Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Bonita). One boat may not win two prizes. If this situation occurs, said boat may choose one category to place fish upon weigh-in. In the event that no fish of a particular species is caught (Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Bonita) the prize money for that category will be dispersed at the committee’s discretion.
8. Any Captain caught cheating will be absolutely humiliated, tarred and feathered and banished for all future tournaments in the State of Florida.
9. Any protest concerning a rule violation must be filed prior to the closing of tournament scales. Protests must be submitted in writing and accompanied by $100 cash (non-refundable) to the Fisherman’s Ball Tournament Committee where they will review it at a backyard BBQ you will host. All decisions made by the Tournament Rules Committee are final and official.
10. All captains are responsible for their crew’s actions at Peanut Island and the Fisherman’s Ball Committee shall not be responsible for anything whatsoever. Seriously though, we aren’t responsible for any of you!
11. All state & federal recreational fishing rules governing weight, size, bag limits and licensing must be observed. Only legal sized fish will be weighed.
12. By registering to this tournament, you have agreed to the above rules and regulations.
13. If you think you can come up with better rules, please submit them to The Fisherman’s Ball committee.
